Houses, available in colleges like County and Grizedale, typically feature 12 bedrooms across four storeys. For students seeking greater independence, self-contained studios—located in colleges including Grizedale, Pendle, and Graduate College—offer private living spaces with en suite facilities and kitchen areas. Some larger studios are also suitable for couples.

Postgraduate accommodation is primarily based within the Graduate College on Alexandra Park, offering a mix of en suite rooms (573), shared facilities (189), and 72 studio apartments. Family-friendly accommodation is also available, ranging from one-bedroom flats to three-bedroom homes.

For students continuing beyond their first year, around 1,400 on-campus rooms are available annually. Additionally, Chancellor’s Wharf provides University-managed accommodation in the city centre, offering 244 bedrooms across three buildings. This location combines convenience with easy access to shops, transport links, and the campus.

Lancaster also supports students seeking private housing through Lancaster University Homes, an accreditation scheme recognised by both the University and Lancaster City Council. All listed properties meet strict standards for quality and safety.
